Member protection and child safety

We want netball to provide a safe, fair and inclusive environment for everyone involved. We aim to ensure the core values, good reputation, positive behaviours and attitudes are maintained and enhanced through our activities. We seek to ensure that every person involved in netball is treated with respect and dignity and is protected from discrimination, harassment and abuse and other inappropriate / unacceptable behaviour. In addition to this, we want to protect our children and ensure they have a safe haven at netball.

NOTE: This page is currently under construction. We will continue to include further information as more resources become available. All feedback is welcomed.

Charlestown Netball Association and our affiliate clubs follow the Member Protection Framework provided by Netball NSW (NNSW). This includes a Member Protection Policy, a Code of Behaviour Policy and other related procedures for handling grievances and complaints.

If you have any concerns, please reach out to our Member Protection Officers for support and a confidential chat: Dianne Pascoe (0408689150), Peta Forder (0410045503), Jodie Hadden (0419126103), Jodie Mortimer (0414917895), Elly Tindall (0425301200).

The 10 Child Safe Standards have been developed in response to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into institutional child abuse. In late 2021,  the NSW parliament passed amendments to the Children’s Guardian Act 2019 which embedded the 10 ‘Child Safe Standards’ in NSW legislation, making these standards compulsory for all organisations engaged in child-related work.  In response, Netball NSW has released a Child Safeguarding Policy, available on their website though their Policies and Member Protection Framework pages.

If you have concerns or further questions, please reach out to Dianne Pascoe (0408689150) or Peta Forder (0410045503).
