TEAM ENTRY

  • Once team has registered, the team organiser will receive a unique participant-to-team registration link via email.
    • All players must register into the team using the unique participant-to-team registration link
    • There is no fee for player registration into team
    • All players must read the competition rules and agree to take responsibility for their on and off court behaviour during the competition. 
    • Coaches, team managers, and the team umpire also need to register with team using the same player-to-team registration link (no fee, it's free! )
  • Player registrations are open until the start of the competition.

TEAM GUIDELINES

  • Minimum of seven players must be registered per team
  • Maximum of fourteen players can be registered per team
  • Maximum of three non-Aboriginal players per team
  • Each team must provide at least one non player umpire
  • Players can only play in their registered team
  • NOTE: This is a drug and alcohol free event - zero tolerance.

COMPETITION RULES

  • 2024 Koori Netball Tournament Rules are available through this link 
  • All players, coaches, and team managers should be familiar with the rules prior to play
  • All participants (players, coaches, managers, umpires) are expected to abide by these rules during the competition and behave accordingly on and off the court.

FORMAT

Each game will have 2 x 12-minute halves, with a 2 minute half-time break and 4 minutes between games. Where possible, teams will play one game on, followed by one game off.  Each round will start on the hour or half-hour  (i.e. 8:30am, 9:00am, 9:30am, 10:00am, 10:30am, etc).  

START TIME

Saturday:

9:00am - Opening ceremony

10:00am - Games commence

Sunday:

8:30am - Games commence

UNIFORM

Flexible!!! As long as you all look like a team (i.e. have similar outfits), you can wear what you want.  The choice of attire is at the discretion of the teams. You can wear netball dresses, leggings + shirts, bike shorts + tops, skirts + tops, even team onesies if you really want! All is fine, provided everyone in the team is similarly attired.

However, no offensive slogans on clothing. And please keep bottoms covered! 

Teams are required to bring their own set of bibs.

IMPORTANT!! MANAGERS MEETING VIA ZOOM on TUESDAY 22nd OCTOBER

All team managers are asked to attend the Zoom Meeting for Team Managers at 7:00pm on Tuesday, 22nd October. A zoom link has been sent to all team organisers and all registered team managers on the Sunday before the meeting (sent20th October).

This meeting will cover the necessary housekeeping for the competition, as well as providing vital information for teams at the start of the competition. 

AWARDS AND PRIZES

The presentation ceremony will be at 2:45pm on Sunday afternoon.

Winners and Runners-Up

Medals & prizes will be given to the winners and runners-up for each division. After the last game for the division has been played, the competition scores will be finalised and an announcement will be made for the winners and runners-up.  Please send one person from these teams to the clubhouse to collect the team medals .

SPIRIT AWARD

There will be a ‘Spirit Award’ presented to one team from each Division during the presentations on Day 2 of the Tournament. Event organisers will determine the recipient of the award based on observations of all teams throughout the duration of the tournament, giving consideration to:

  • Sportsmanship on and off the court;
  • Comradery amongst teams; and
  • Showing respect to officials, other players, spectators, and the surrounding environment throughout the two days of competition.

WET WEATHER NOTIFICATION

Unless otherwise advised, teams should assume games are on and proceed to the courts for play.

Any decisions to alter, postpone, or cancel games on Carnival Day due to adverse conditions will be announced via social media, so please keep track of our social media outlets (particularly Facebook, but also Instagram). 

TEAM TENTS & RUBBISH

TENTS: Teams can set up their tents at the southern end of the court precinct, on the grassy area between the upper courts and Dudley Road. Teams are welcome to set up tents from 7:30am onwards.

- No tents permitted in the cemetery area -

Please be aware of other teams, other tents, ropes, etc. If it's windy, you may need to peg your tent down, so please keep this in mind. 

RUBBISH: Please remember to put all rubbish in the provided bins around the courts or take your rubbish with you when you leave. Skip bins are also located at each end of the club house. Each team will be given a garbage bag for their rubbish, please use it. If you run out of garbage bags, please ask at the clubhouse for extra bags, it's no problem. Thank you for your cooperation!

FACILITIES AVAILABLE

CANTEEN

Our canteen offers a variety of drink and food options, including coffee, tea, soft drinks, water, sports drinks, fresh sandwiches, salad tubs, hot food (pies, hot dogs,  chicken burgers, etc), and other snacks. You can get your red frogs and ice slushes from the canteen!

BBQ

The BBQ will also be operating, giving a selection of hot foods such as sausage sandwiches, steak sandwiches, and bacon & egg rolls, as well as cold drinks. Yum!

FIRST AID & STRAPPING

The first aid office will be available to all players. Ice will also be available from the first aid office.

Strapping will be available for $5 per ankle, knee, shoulder, elbow or wrist. The strapping tent will be near the BBQ area (southern end of clubhouse).

EFTPOS & "swipe payments" will be available at the canteen and BBQ, as well as the front office. The nearest ATMs are located at the nearby Whitebridge shops, or at Charlestown (the fuel stations on the Pacific Highway or Charlestown Shopping Centre).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When will the draw be available? And how can I see the draw?

At this stage, we plan to have the draw available on Thursday 24th October. When the draw is available, we will announce it via social media (Facebook & Instagram). We will also include the link to the draw on this page as well.

PRECINCT MAP

There are 28 courts which may be used on carnival day - 20 courts on the lower level, 6 courts on the upper level, and 2 courts (A & B) near the northern end of the clubhouse.

PARKING - There is parking on Bula Street and Dudley Road and surrounding streets, with very limited parking around the clubhouse. There is an overflow parking section to the north of the courts (next to the AFL/football clubs). Please be mindful of our neighbours and their access to their own properties (please don't block driveways, etc).

Parking in the cemetery is prohibited. (Rangers may issue fines for cars which are parked in the
cemetery. )
